It´s pretty much a fact that anyone who is anyone in the internet marketing niche has a mentor of some description who they can call on for advice. For a lot of us newbies that can be a real problem when you´re struggling alone with no one to turn to for help and guidance..

Well for me that´s all changed ! About three weeks ago I signed up to a course by Alex Jeffreys

The first webinar which was held at 6pm in the states which equates to midnight here in Spain and went on until three or so in the morning. I then couldn´t even consider going to bed because I had so many new ideas swirling around my head, so I didn´t, I worked right through the night and then most of the following day ! I am not normally prone to over excitement but I am completely hooked with what this guy has to say.

The one thing that struck me immediately about this guy was the way he talked with utter passion and all the while with not the merest hint of HYPE !

This on its own came as a breath of fresh air because if you have spent any amount of time looking at the internet marketing niche you will be well aware that there are an awful lot of ¨hype mongers¨ who are always pedaling you yet another product that is so much better than the product they tried to sell you the previous day !

Not this guy. He has, in the space of three weeks turned me into a workaholic, with more than a few nights where I forgot to go to bed !

If you would like to see how I progress, please feel free to bookmark the site and please don´t forget to leave me a comment or two, or better still pop your details in the boxes at the top of the page and I will send you a free ebook in which I show you how, after struggling for a long time to make money online, I made a few changes to the way I worked and these proved to be the turning point for me.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for stopping by the blog. I’ve added you to my blog roll. Looking forward to working with you and all of Alex’s students in the future.

Admin December 13, 2008

Hi JT,

I wonder if I might ask a favour of you ? I am desperate to add a blogroll to my blog but for the life of me I have no idea how to do it. Is it a plugin or just a seperate page, and how do I, as a lot of people have managed to do, make live links from their sites to other blogs just by using that blog owners name.

Eoin O'Leary December 13, 2008

Hi Paul,

To add a blogroll, log into Wordpress, .

If you are using an older version of Wordpress, go to Manage / Link Categories

In Wordpress 2.7, just go to, Links, Link Categories.

Add a Category for Alex’s Students.

Next go back to links and Add New.

Put in the name and URL, then select the Alex’s Students category.

Click save.

Then add the Links Widget to your sidebar and it should show up.

Hi Paul,

Exciting times!

Your hard work is paying off in the quality of your blog.

Reading your reply to JT above I can tell you what I have done.

If you go to your blog admin dashboard and go to design then widgets you can select a link widget for your sidebar. Name it to suit, save it and there you have it.
When you want to add a link simply go to manage then links, click add a link and enter the details, scroll down and check the relevant boxes for categories and target (blank opens the link in a new window) then save the link and you are done.

I hope this helps.

Yes of course, I would be extremely happy to promote your book.

Hi Ken,

Thanks very much for the great comment. The blog took me a lot longer to setup than it should have done, but being a virgo it had to be just right !

I had a comment from Eoin earlier about the problem I was having with the blogroll, hopefully now the problem is fixed, although the letters are not as centered as I would have liked them. Damm there goes the virgo in me again =O)

Becky Carter December 13, 2008

Hi Paull,
Thanks for popping by our blog, I have put you onto our blogroll.

Alex’s saying of Keep On Top Of Being On Top is actually harder than its sounds isn’t it. Even just trying to keep up with commenting on other peoples blogs feels like a full time job sometimes!

Then trying to write posts of interest is the next hurdle, well for me anyway being a newbie all I have got at the moment is questions and not many answers! Saying that I have promised to sit down tonight and write a post detailing the plugins have used etc and how I have added them to my site. This is primarily aimed at newbies that feel like they are getting a bit left behind- this will be my biggest challenge yet.

Anyway I love your site and having the video on the front page really gives the personal touch that is important.

Good luck
Becky

@Becky Carter
Hi Becky,

thanks for the brilliant comments. I know exactly what you mean when you talk about not having enough time to do everything that needs doing.

I think if the days had 48 hours in them I´d still be struggling to keep up !

On of the plugins I love is the ¨sticky post¨ it allows you to have certain posts marked as sticky which means they don´t move down the rankings as you add more posts. Obviously I wanted to keep the intro video at the top of the page and this plugin allows me to do that. If you want it go to wp.og/plugins and you will find it.

All the best

Phil December 13, 2008

Wow Paul! , After reading your Ebook , I believe we could be related geneticaly— Seriously mate, I think we are clones.
I too, in the past have had an unenviable lack of focus, a compulsive habit of buying ‘The Next Sure Thing’ , the ’smoking’ terabit e of memory on external hard drive full of ‘How To Do…’ PDFs and text files …. (Arrrgh! the digital nightmares you mentioned.) …the once-worn dresses in the wardrobe… (oh wait…that was the ex-wife ..right?? ) Opps!
Well maybe we aren’t ‘petri-dish ‘ brothers Paul but we are brothers in the world of Alex Jeffreys coaching, and that’s a kool thing. What a great bunch of giving, sharing and helpful souls.

I’m another (newbie) student of Alex, and I just wanted to say what an AWESOME job you have done on your eBook. I have learned much from reading it. The layout , text , and graphics made it a genuine pleasure to read. ( where did you get those graphics Paul???)
Seriously, you have definitely raised the bar here.
I have also subscribed to your feed.
Thanks a million Paul you have inspired me to write my own ebook – sooner than later.

Alex is a fabulous motivator, and it´s up to each and every one of us to make him proud.

Admin December 13, 2008

@Phil

Hi Phil,

You know it´s quite a frightening thought , and I´m pretty sure you will agree with me on this this point, and that is, had we not found Alex we would both still be messing around buying even more crap !

I can tell by your enthusiasm that you are as pleased as I am that we can both jump off the ¨hype wagon¨ and finally make something real for ourselves.

As for your comments, as I said to Chelsea earlier that it´s brilliant to have your peers critique your work in such a fabulous way.

Listen Phil, as for writing my little ebook, all I did was tell the truth about my own experiences. By the way you wrote your comment to me I am sure you can write a best seller !

If there is anything I can do to help just drop me an email, ok..

Best wishes,

Joe Green December 15, 2008

Hello Paull

Thanks for your kind comments about my site. Yours is fantastic: the video is great and the layout is clean and clear.

I agree with what others have said about it taking a lot of time just to vist and comment on other people’s blogs and still do extra things. I did manage to write an ebook on Sunday (I’d already got most of it in an e-course) which is a short guide on how to change PLR products to make them your own and I’ve added that to my blog – but it wasn’t on my To Do list for the day. Still, I feel good I’m taking action and gosh how I am able to focus now…it’s great.

I wonder if you’d mind helping me out. I’m having problems putting a sign-up form in my right column and putting an image there.
I’ve uploaded the image by going to Write/Post and just uploading the image without a post. Then I pasted the url to the image into Design/Widgets/Text but all I get showing on my blog is the url.

Best Wishes
Joe

Admin December 15, 2008

Hi Joe,

And thankyou for the great comment. With regard to you photo problem, If you are using Aweber to capture your leads you have the facility of adding a graphic into the capture box.

If you go to the webform setting in the Aweber menu and you click on edit the header section of your optin box you will be shown an extra edit box that you can upload a picture from, say for arguments sake your desktop. I haven´t put a picture in my optin box as yet because I cannot figure out why the correct url for the photo that I host is not recognised !!

I hope this was of some help to you ?

All the best,

Paull

You’ve got a TERRIFIC looking blog over here! I love your video and the water view behind me–it is absolutely beautiful!

Stay tune for my traffic videos this week on my blog–and let me know if I can do anything to help!

Adam

http://www.onlinecashflowguru.com/blog

Adam December 15, 2008

Hey Paul,

First, you are going to want to upload your image to your server/webhost or blog photo album–it needs to be somewhere online and you need that image url.

Then, you go into your aweber webform, and you are going to modify the source code of your opt in box.

This is the code you need to enter:

Just fill in the blanks with the url of your image, and the width and height pixels, and you should be good to go!

As far as embedding videos in your WP blog, I’m not sure as I have not upgraded yet. I do know that I use a video plugin here
http://www.viper007bond.com/wordpress-plugins/vipers-video-quicktags/
and I haven’t had a problem embedding videos in my posts.

Best of luck!!

Nigel Yip December 16, 2008

Hi Paull

I haven’t checked my blog for comments but my googlemail inbox was blinkging with your comment message.

Now in regards to adding videos to Wordpress 2.7, I don’t use the wordpress functions at all. Instead, when I put blog posts up, I switch to html code and paste the video embed code. This basically creates a media player box and is linked to whereever your video is hosted.

For example, my videos are hosted via Animoto or Youtube. So what I do once I have made or uploaded my video, there is an embed code feature. I simply copy the code and then paste it into my wordpress blog in html edit mode. Once pasted, I press save then switch back to visual editing mode.

I have tried using Wordpress’s own video/media feature prior to 2.7 i.e. 2.6.5 but I didn’t like using either however I didn’t get any stalling though. Maybe 2.7. needs an update patch or something. If you would like more info, my Light’s Camera Action eBook features a mini chapter on embedding codes from youtube to wordpress.

In fact, what I will do is, go into word for you after this comment, copy that section out of my ebook for you, make it into a pdf and then send it to you via email.

Hope that helped and best regards
Nigel

Nigel Yip December 16, 2008

Hey Paull

Just found this – maybe useful for you to read

http://wordpress.org/support/topic/164999

Apparently it’s to do with Adobe Flash version 9 and version 10. According to the wordpress topic, it seems like incompatible issues which is causing the problem. If you have recently upgraded to Adobe version 10, then there is going to be problems and if it’s Version 9 – it’s ok.

Plus in the above Wordpress post (see link page), it mentions that by WordPress Version 2.8, this should not even be a problem as the peeps at Adobe are telling Wordpress they are getting rid of it or something along those lines and that is’s currently a security fix issue- to be honest, I don’t know about you, that sounds to me like a loada technical babbery faffing – maybe one of the more tech advanced students can elaborate more.

Best Regards
Nigel

Nigel Yip December 16, 2008

Hey Paull

Nigel here again, now in regards to reverting back to pre-WordPress Version 2.6.5 from 2.7 – I don’t think you can do it but then I’ve personally haven’t done it before and I can only imagine that if you did try it, then it would be like (as you nicely put it) – blowing your computer apart lol…

If you have to really do it, then the only way I can think of is that you would first need a back up of all your files, blogs, database settings etc. prior to WordPress 2.7 upgrade install and you would also need a copy of Wordpress 2.6.5.

Plus it would mean you would have to erase everything of your current hosting server, upload and then reinstall WordPress 2.6.5, and followed by rebuilding your blog by importing your saved files.

I personally wouldn’t recommend it as there are lots of places it could go wrong, if you do know what you are doing, then maybe, but you have to weigh up and ask yourself whether it’s worth it?

Have you asked either one of the more tech guys i.e. Dean (Holland) or maybe Mark (Austin) or Austin (Delaney), and see what they think as well, maybe they know a shortcut to two.

Feel free to drop me a comment or message if you have any further questions and I’ll try and reply back to them asap.

All the best
Nigel

Nigel Yip December 16, 2008

Hey Paull

Nigel here again,

In regards to previewing your post and not seeing your video – it’s pretty much the norm, wordpress doesn’t seem to be able to do it for some odd reason (Maybe it’s the Adobe Flash Issue again) and like you said , the only way you see it, is if you publish it.

Oh and don’t try and put two videos in one post as it only means one video will work and the other one will either leave a nasty big gap or a big yellow like box in your post.

I think I mentioned it in my ebook anyway – I’ll send you the links to download them as they are quite big and some email accounts won’t accept them.

Best Regards and all the best

Hi Paul,

Firstly, Paul have to say apologise.

You see, I’ve been going through my GA traffic sources and noticed I was getting a fair few visitors from your site but I thought, hey I don’t recognise that name from my couple of hundred on my blogroll. And it wasn’t – glad the old memory isn’t failing me, lol.

However, I checked through all my comments and notice you made a request over a week ago now. Sorry, but I missed it with all the chaos in getting my Newsletter up and running. When I did my mass update of my student Blogroll yesterday I went from those that added comments to my ‘Complete Student List’ post I put out and thus over looked yours. I’ll add you asap when I do the next block up date.

You’ve certainly got a cool site. Love the videos and the content is spot on. I’ll be paying you a visit regularly now and hopefully others will continue to do so.

Are you entering the Traffic Generation competition Alex announced in Module 4? Hope so, I’d be interested in seeing what techniques you have picked up over the last couple of years.

I’m about to put my contribution to the competition on my site showing exactly what Traffic Generation techniques I’m using to get my ton of traffic. Will I make the number 1 spot in Alex’s competition and continue to be the most visited blog in the community. Who knows?

I will be announcing a surprise as well that will be of direct benefit to all those who are looking to get the most Traffic and win the competition. Check it out later…

Hi Garry,

Thanks for popping over and leaving your comment.
I am definitely entering Alex´s competition. Unfortunately Iv´e been away for the last few days delivering a boat to the south of France,
it´s not as glamorous as it sounds, lots of problems and paperwork !!!

I would be very grateful if you could find the time to add me to your ever burgeoning list !!

Hi Paul,

Nice to see someone who has a ‘Grey Goatee’ like me except you have some hair to go with it!…( I’m Just A Jealous Guy’ …now who recorded that…Mr Brian Ferry if I’m not mistaken!)

Your Blog content and the video are great.

I’ve added you to my list of fellow soldiers in ‘Alex’s Army’ and Bookmarked your Blog as I will pop back regularly now that I remembered to actually comment on your Blog as you did on mine a few days ago.

Sorry for the delay, I have been trying to find someone to upgrade my version of WordPress for me as you would have heard on the call the other night.

I like your Header image as I would like the same type on mine when I do get mine updated.

Here’s to your success for 2009.

Cheers and Happy Christmas

Steve Williams December 27, 2008

Hi Paull

Thanks for dropping by my blog and leaving your comments. I have added you to my blogroll and look forward to hearing from you again.
I must apologise for the late reply. I have been so busy with other commitments lately, that I haven’t had much time to update my blog, but now xmas is over I fully intend to get back in the swing of things.
There is so much to do and learn, and it is so exciting to think what the future holds for all of Alex’s students.
Great blog. Keep it up.

Cheers

Admin December 27, 2008

Hi Steve,

I know exactly what you mean about other commitments, I think this year Christmas should have been held before we all started the course !
Anyway thanks for the reply and I hope you have a great start to 2009

Alan Neath December 28, 2008

Hi Alan,
thank you for stopping by, And yes it was a right pain to set up but worth it I think =o)

Blogging Tips December 28, 2008

Hey Paul

It appear to me that you’ve learn quite a bit from Alex. The no. of comments you get on this article alone is pretty impressive. How did you do it? The fact that you interact well with your commenters is worth a mention. So that’s what a Virgo does, eh?

Nice blog design. Simple, neat and elegant. You’ve done a great job here, considering the fact that you didn’t know how to add a blogroll before. Keep blogging and cheers to 2009.

Yan

Admin December 28, 2008

Hi Yan,

I honestly don´t know why I have a lot of comments on the first post.
Lets hope it´s not because the commentors didn´t bother to look at the rest of the posts =o)

That blogroll was a pain in the rear, I had never even heard of a blogroll before setting this blog up,
thankfully more than one person came to my rescue.

Best wishes to you for the year to come,

Paull

Blogging Tips December 29, 2008

Oh I thought this was the latest post as it appeared first on the front page. Yeah, the blogosphere is full of helpful people who will point you in the right direction.

Best wishes to you too for 2009.

Guy December 29, 2008

Hi Paull,

I’ve noticed that you haven’t written a post in quite some time and was wondering if everything is alright. You seem to be getting good traffic to your blog and as I recall from one of Alex’s modules, he mentioned that we should all keep maintaining our blog by writing posts as often as possible.
I’m sure you’ve just been tied up with Christmas & family on sunny Mallorca – lucky git ;-) but let me know if everything is okay.

regards

Guy

Admin December 29, 2008

Hi Yan,

I have used the sticky post plugin so as to keep this post first. And the same goes for you, all the best for 2009 !

Admin December 29, 2008

Hi Guy,

Every thing is good thanks,

I seem to have spent so much time trying to generate traffic that, as you pointed out the postings have been non existant =O(
Thankfully Christmas is out of the way now and I can start concentrating on 10 things a once again !!

Christmas on the island is a strange affair, so different from England, nice but very different !

As far as traffic generation I wish I could tell you that I was getting a lot of traffic, unfortunately that isn´t the case. I have spent a lot of time oil rig hopping and posting my blog to various listing sites but as yet I´m not getting the tidal wave of traffic I had hoped for. Maybe when everybody returns to work after the break I will start to see more movement in my traffic stats !

All the very best,

Paull

Thomas Skavhellen December 29, 2008

Hi Paull!

What a great first post you have here. I like your layout of your blog too and it seams like you are getting started very well with over 80 comments on your first post.

I like your videos a lot too. I think this will work great for you. You have the best looking backgrounds I have seen in videos for a long time. That view is amazing and I can see you can have great success with making videos from Spain.

Looking forward to your next posts. Keep them coming.. once or twice a week at a minimum and you will do great!

I’ll be back soon!

Hi Thomas,

Thanks for stopping by. I am very happy and lucky to live were I do, and if you think this view is nice just hold on until I do further videos =O)
I must admit to being a bit behind with my posts, hopefully now Christmas is out of the way I can post a lot more.

Regards,

Paull

Robin Pike December 31, 2008

Hello Paul

How many weeks has it been since we started this thing? I still find I can’t sleep — I am up at all hours getting on here trying to catch up on my to do list. Unfortunately (or fortunately) the harder I work, the more I find, and the longer my list gets. LOL

I am really excited about 2009!!

Robin :-)

Hi Mark,

And look forward to speaking to you as well. Thanks for the comment about the video.

I have a platinum account with Animation factory. they have an incredible range of clipart and video backgrounds to chose from. I think it´s something like 20k plus, so I think it will be a while before I run out of content to use !

We live on Mallorca, as the crow flies not that far from where you lived.

All the best,

Paull

Mark Austin January 2, 2009

Do Mark,

They have a higher pro level that is amazing. Yep Mallorca is a stunning place, love it to bits.

Armen Shirvanian January 3, 2009

Having a person lead you through a procedure lets you skip many of the mistakes that would normally be made. It might end up harder to go through the build-up process again on your own, but that won’t need to be done if you stay on track with the information from the other person. One item of information, at the right time, can save a person a month of confusion.

Admin January 3, 2009

Indeed Armen,

I have made so many mistakes in the time I´ve been online that it is fabulous now to have a group of people around who are all asking the same type of questions and getting the correct answers

Patrick Isherwood January 9, 2009

Hello Paull,

Just read your book and it could have been me writing. And now, like you I have joined Alex in his mentoring program. A real eye opener. I am behind with the course but listen to the recordings. As you can see from the blog I bought Rob Benwell’s BTTB2 even after I had joined Alex and told myself not to buy anything else.

I think I am going to start afresh with Wordpress instead of using someone elses format.

I live in France but work in the UK most of the time. I am 64 and really want to pack up the 16 hour days and spend time with my wife of 40 years.

Patrick

Admin January 9, 2009

Hi Patrick,

Glad you enjoyed the book. I think my story mirrors a lot of peoples. With regards to your extra purchase, I don´t think one extra purchase will dilute what your learning from Alex. but I would stop there if I were you. I honestly don´t think you need look any further for a good business plan than the one that´s being offered here.

Wow 40 years, that beautiful.

All the best,

Paull
